What is Coaching all about?

If reaching your potential is important, you must train with a plan. More importantly, you must follow a plan that is your plan. All athletes have unique strengths and weaknesses, abilities, and motivators. At Rush Performance Coaching in affiliation with Bayshore Swim, we design training and racing strategies for dedicated athletes. This comes in many forms and is tailored to you as an individual. This means assessing where you are today through scientific testing protocols, and identifying where you want to be in the future through goal setting. Lastly, we connect those two points with a customized training plan that changes dynamically to your fitness.

Why Use a Professional Coach

Why use a professional triathlon/endurance coach?
  • Expertise: Professional coaches have extensive knowledge and experience in triathlon training. They understand the complexities of the sport, including swimming, cycling, and running, as well as transitions and race strategy.
  • Personalized Training Plans: A coach can tailor training plans to your specific goals, fitness level, and schedule. They can identify your strengths and weaknesses and design workouts to address them, maximizing your potential for improvement. These are designed day to day and week to week. No general/basic templates. Customized to each athlete in real time.
  • Accountability: Having a coach provides accountability, as you have someone to report to and who monitors your progress. This can help keep you motivated and committed to your training regimen.
  • Feedback and Guidance: A coach can provide feedback on your technique, form, and performance, helping you make adjustments to improve efficiency and prevent injuries. They can also offer guidance on nutrition, hydration, recovery, and mental preparation.
  • Goal Setting: Coaches can help you set realistic and achievable goals based on your abilities and aspirations. They can also develop a timeline and plan for reaching those goals, breaking them down into manageable steps.
  • Race Preparation: A coach can assist with race preparation, including developing race-specific training plans, practicing transitions, and devising race strategies. They can also provide support and guidance on race day, helping you perform at your best.
  • Injury Prevention: Coaches can help you avoid overtraining and injuries by designing balanced training programs and incorporating rest and recovery periods. They can also identify early signs of injury and provide guidance on proper rehabilitation.
  • Motivation and Support: A coach can offer encouragement, motivation, and support throughout your training journey. They can help you stay focused, overcome obstacles, and maintain a positive mindset, especially during challenging times.
